Promised Land

promised landThen the Lord said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. Exodus 34:27-28

If God is with us, the promised land is less important than the journey. Moses met with God for 40 days. During this time, he fasted and God sustained Him by His very words and commands. He returned with the newly carved 10 Commandments for the people of God. And he glowed with the glory of the Lord… his face literally shined. This is the experience each of us have as we enter into the new covenant with God, made in Jesus blood. We shine with the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit of God.

How about me? Do I love the covenants, commands and promises of God? Are they now so much a part of my life that they are more important than food and water?

God, its true, man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth. Today, may I walk a Moses did, with you and pleasing in Your sight. I want to go where You are sending me… but only if You are leading the way.
