And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; all of them are bronze and tin and iron and lead in the furnace; they are the dross of silver. Ezekiel 22:17-18
God revealed through Ezekiel that He saw Israel as “dross”… the worthless remains after a metal is heated. This was one in a myriad of judgments pronounced against God’s own people. It preceded the great Babylonian invasion in history.
What makes a person fine metal in God’s service or merely dross? Its my heart and obedience.
God, may I be to you precious. Thank you that You have declared me valuable in Jesus great sacrifice upon the cross for me.
