But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. James 2:8-10

Jesus and his brother James both regarded showing favoritism as wrong. Making judgments about one person somehow being worth more than another makes us break the royal law of love thy neighbor as ourselves. No one want to be judged that way. The truth is that every person has infinite value because they are a person for whom Christ died.

Are there any instances where I have found myself offering favoritism?

Lord, convict me when I fall into this temptation. I want to please You, first and foremost.
