perfect timingThen Joab did go to Absalom’s house, and he said to him, “Why have your servants set my field on fire?”
Absalom said to Joab, “Look, I sent word to you and said, ‘Come here so I can send you to the king to ask, “Why have I come from Geshur?
It would be better for me if I were still there!”’ Now then, I want to see the king’s face, and if I am guilty of anything, let him put me to death.” 2 Samuel 14:31-32

Absalom at times demonstrated patience and at other moments like this, lost his patience. He so desperately wanted the approval of his father, king David, that he mistreated the very man (Joab) who was helping him re-connect. Even though his actions forces a meeting, it would not go well in the end. We all should pray more and seek God’s timing.

Am I hasty in any area of life right now? Do I value God’s timing more than my desires?

God, thank you for demonstrating over and over again, that You are in control and Your timing is perfect. Help me know Your mind and discern Your timing in all things.
