Perfect Holiness

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

A godly response to encouragement, correction or discipline is a personal fervor for holiness. Having received God’s forgiveness for any particular sin, a Christian wants to be right in all areas of life, and so he pursues it. This is the great value of practicing the “one another’s” of the Bible… love one another, forgive one another, bear one another’s burdens, etc. By doing life together we can bring the correction and accountability we all need.

How am I relating to others? Am I opening my life up for correction, admonishment, encouragement? Am I offering the same to others? Yes, I believe I am. I can think of the people who I am that close to.

Lord Jesus, You are always welcome to bring to my life what is needed. I want to “perfect holiness” in reverence for You.
