Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. John 4:13-14
When we were kids we used to sing a dirge of a song with the lyrics “How dry I am, how dry I am”. Many people would describe their lives this way. They have daily purpose, but no eternal purpose. They are parched for purpose. Jesus says that He can give us such a fantastic purpose for living that it would be like a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
In my life, I feel like I have a white-hot compelling vision for living. I am part of God’s redemptive plan in the world to curb the rebellion of mankind and win people into a love relationship with God, one at a time. There is danger, and enemy, and the stakes could not be higher, literally eternal life!
God, I am getting excited about what today holds. Move in me and through me to accomplish your will. In Jesus name. Amen.
