A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
Jesus had his final dinner with the disciples, washed their feet and revealed that He would be betrayed. Then He summed it all up by telling the standard by which His followers would love one another. The standard is “even as I have loved you”. His example defines love for us: servanthood, truth, sacrificial.
What a joy it is to follow His example. I am far from good at it yet, but each day I am shining a little more with each facet of love. I hope to be well cut, great clarity, color, etc. like a diamond that reflects His Light!
God do your perfecting work in me, even today. May you present opportunites for me to express Your love to others.
