Now this is the duty of their loads, for all their service in the tent of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle and its bars and its pillars and its sockets, and the pillars around the court and their sockets and their pegs and their cords, with all their equipment and with all their service; and you shall assign each man by name the items he is to carry. As God assigns the duties to the tribes of Levi, each has an area of responsibility. They are to each bear a load. Its a beautiful picture of the division of labor, individual responsibility, organization, with accountability and management under Ithamar. All of this for the purpose of serving God. I love the phrase ‘assign each man by name’. This is the key to good working relationships, being known. Its also the key to fellowship as we volunteer and work together. Galatians 6 reminds us to ‘Carry one another’s burden, but each one should bear his own load.’ What a smart balance.
How am I at knowing people I serve alongside? Is my workplace a beautiful picture that reflects God’s desire for an organization?
God, please give me the insight You gave to Your people. Help me in all the aspects of managing, organizing, and leading. Lead me, so I might do so for others.
