Open Doors

open doorDevote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Colossians 4:2-4

Have you ever experienced a moment when someone opens the door of their heart for you to share the message of Jesus? Paul and his team of evangelists and pastors were certainly devoted to prayer. He wanted the believers in Collosae to do the same. He wanted them to ask God to open doors for the message they were preaching (the mystery of Christ – the gospel open to Gentiles). Paul wanted to proclaim the life and message of Jesus clearly and with boldness. And He did!

How about me. Am I clearly representing and proclaiming the gospel? Is there anything in my life that would discount the attractiveness of Jesus and His message of hope, life and transformation?

God, I want to pray for pastor Chuck and his role in preaching the gospel. Please continue to open doors for him and Crossroads church. May we together make the mystery of Christ known. May we endure any suffering or “chains” with the grace of the apostle Paul. Oh, I ask that you would illuminate minds and make it clear to all who hear. All of this by the power of Your Holy Spirit at work in us and in the world drawing men and women to salvation.
