On Christian Liberty – 2

Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil; for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another. Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. Romans 14:16-20

Life and loving other people is more important than food and drink. While I have a freedom to eat whatever I want (as my conscience dictates and faith supports), a higher ethic at times is to forego that freedom for the sake of avoiding a stumbling block for a weaker brother. When I cling to my freedom as a “right” I deserve instead of a privilege granted I move toward selfishness and away from loving others.

How aware am I of the offenses I have created with others unnecessarily?

God grow me in my sensitivity. As this day begins, help me take that one big step toward a vision I believe came from you. Help me support and minister to the families that have lost loved ones. I am Your servant ready to reach out and love people one at a time.
