For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Mark 8:36-37
The human soul can be preserved for God or forfeited by giving affection to things of the world. I love seeing the bumper stickers from C28 that say “not of this world”. Its a reminder that I am to set my affections on God and not things here.
Is there anything in the world competing for my affections? Or is my life set on living for Jesus Christ?
God, when I made my decision to follow Jesus’ life and teachings some 30 years ago, it was the best thing I ever did. The adventure of living this life with You and for You can never be matched by passing worldly pleasures. Today, I will remember that!
