Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11
The funny quip about the self-centeredness of actors and actresses is to quote them as saying “what’s my motivation?” As if they needed some special motivation for a scene they are doing. The Bible says my motivation in speaking and serving is to glorify God (or reveal the character of God).
How am I doing inwardly with this idea? Pretty well, although pride can creep in, or the desire to get credit.
Lord Jesus, You are my model in all things. Help me stay purely motivated.
