How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!” Romans 10:14
We could use a few more preachers! People come into a saving relationship with God through the preaching of the gospel. Of course, if every believer would simply share their testimony and live a consistent Christ honoring life, that would be the most powerful message of all. That’s what happened to me… my friend told me about Jesus, lived a consistent and attractive life, and got me to hear a few good preachers.
What young preachers am I “sending” or preparing? Am I fulfilling my call to preach the gospel? Is my life attractive and consistent?
God, what a joy to wake up today and anticipate serving You. Help me put the final touches on the sermon and to preach under the influence of Your Holy Spirit. May this day have eternal results!
