For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge —that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19
We used to sing a worship song with the lyrics: “More love, more power, more of You in my life.” Paul prayed that the Christians in Ephesus would have power. Their power would come from the Holy Spirit of God in their lives. He would build them up inside resulting in an overflow of love, which in turn gave birth to more power. So much so, that they would begin to grasp the immense measure of God’s love expressed in Christ Jesus.
How have I grasped the love of God to this point in my life? Is there powerful evidence that I have? I hope so.
Lord Jesus, You were all powerful because You were all loving, filled with the love of God to overflowing and always pouring out to others. Help me be the same way.
