Moment Of Dependence

dependenceThe name of the Lord is a strong tower;
The righteous runs into it and is safe.

A rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own imagination.

Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
But humility goes before honor. Proverbs 18:10-12

In this collection of proverbs the ways of the righteous are contrasted with that of the wicked and foolish. One mark of a righteous man is his dependence upon the Lord. We used to call our time of communion in church service – moment of dependence. How appropriate it is to rely upon God, and not just ourselves. For He is a strong tower, much safer than anything we could imagine.

Am I depending upon God daily? Am I doing my part too?

Lord, You are able, that’s for sure. Today, I again seek You. I want to operate from Your Divine power in me. And I trust that You are able to move beyond anything I could do on my own. You know the big projects that need moving forward – the sale of the property, traffic study, meeting with Wayne and Roger, CW lease, etc. I get excited about how You will show Your goodness and power. I am depending on You!
