“Meaningless! Meaningless!”
says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.” Ecclesiastes 1:1
Solomon was the wisest man who has ever lived (with the exception of Jesus). He made astonishing observations. He governed with expertise. Yet, he wasn’t happy most of the time, judging by his writings.
Is everything really vanity or without meaning? Yes, from a certain perspective. Ready for it? To the man ‘under the sun’. To the natural man, the non-spiritually enlightened man, everything is “Meaningless”. But to those of us who have encountered Christ, we live ‘under the son’ or as Ecclesiastes puts it… under heaven.
God, thank you that You give amazing incredible meaning to life. You are my source and my goal, my everything.
