Therefore, when Mary came where Jesus was, she saw Him, and fell at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” John 11:32
Mary and Martha’s brother Lazarus had died while Jesus was away. Upon His return, Jesus was so deeply moved that the Bible says “He wept”. What fascinates me is that both sisters began their talk with Jesus with the words “Lord, if…”. I think we all spend alot of time thinking “Lord, if…”, instead of accepting our situation and asking “Lord, what now?”
Right now, I am committing to work with the financial, vocational, family, situations that exist and avoid the time thinkging “Lord, if…”!
God, today has big challenges and opportunities, pressures, lack of resources for me and others around me. Yet, You raised Lazarus from the dead. You not only answered our greatest question, but our greatest fear. So, I will walk with You in confidence and faith trusting You. Lord, what now?
