Looking At The Wilderness

Life is filled with disappointment and delay. There are times when instead of immediately achieving or arriving, we are re-routed. I face challenges must differently today than when I was younger. When I look at “wilderness situations”… the difficulty or sacrifices ahead I begin to look for God’s glory in them instead of focusing on my upset or expectations. Somewhere, I find God’s glory appearing and I discover something greater about who God is.

Then Moses said to Aaron, “Say to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, ‘Come near before the Lord, for He has heard your grumblings.’” It came about as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’” Exodus 16:9-12 NASB

What wilderness am I in right now? How is God providing and revealing His eternal purposes and glory? Do I see what’s really going on with spiritual eyes?

God, as this day begins- I am grateful that I do not walk through this life alone. You are constantly available and with me. Thank you. The challenges ahead, I commit to You. May I be a support and blessing to my family as I recognize my niece and nephew’s birthday and encourage my dad and Judy. Even in the wilderness, I do not have to fear for You are the wonderful provider and miracle worker.
