Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. What if God and all the angels and the myriad of believers who went on to be with the Lord already are watching our everyday activities from a heavenly stadium? The Bible asks us to consider the way we live in light of their observation. The first thing I am to do is get the sin our of my life. It slows me down in this all important race. I am to look to Jesus as my source and goal. And I am to follow his example.
How am I doing? Have I gotten the sin out of my life? Am I looking to Jesus to lead, guide and provide? Am I following His example and teachings? Yes.
God, I praise You that You have made a way for me to live. And Jesus came and set the pattern. May I today give the heavenly host something worth cheering for as I follow Jesus example. What a great life!?
