O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling places.
Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy and upon the lyre I shall praise You, O God, my God. Psalm 44:3-4
Its Sunday morning. I am anticipating a time together with God’s people worshiping God today. In this beautiful Psalm of trust, the psalmist implores God to lead him by light (love) and truth to the place where God lives. It is His love and truth that are guideposts pointing the way to where God is. And when we find ourselves in His presence at His altar, we are overwhelmed with joy and a song of praise will break forth as we exclaim Him to be not just God, but “my” God. How wonderful it is to move from religious pursuit to personal relationship.
How can I respond to God’s light and truth this morning? What are they showing me about God’s will and His ways?
Lord, on this day of worship, I want to allow Your light and truth to lead me to where You are. May I find You and there… where You are, worship You and praise You as my God.
