And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. Luke 2:51-52
Jesus had remained in Jerusalem at age 12 for a full day after his parents had left with the caravan returning to Nazareth. They returned to find Him teaching in the temple. The Bible says he returned with them while remaining in subjection to His parents. How odd that as the Son of God, becomes of age, He chooses humility and continues to obey His earthly mother and father. As a result he grows in wisdom an stature and in favor with God and men.
Have I discovered that humility results in learning from others? Am I living in favor with God and others? Yes.
God, by Your grace I am willing to learn from anyone. Even if I am teaching others, I realize I need You to teach me… often from unsuspecting people.
