The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you scoff, you alone will bear it. Proverbs 9:10-12
A holy reverence for God is where it all begins. Wisdom and experiential knowledge of God come when we have a fear of the Lord. With it comes a longer life. In this series of proverbs, we are reminded once again of the benefits of wisdom. I can almost hear the Star Trek character “Spock” saying of wisdom “live long and prosper”!
How will I benefit from fearing the Lord and the wisdom that comes with it?
God, You are my wisdom. Thank you that length of days comes with wisdom and knowing You!
