He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
Jesus says that my love for Him will lead to following His words and way of life. These are not just His words, but that of God the Father. Of course this is in harmony with what Moses told Israel “What does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”
What does my life say about my love for Jesus? Overall, I am becoming more and more conformed to His words and ways. Then, I will do something or fail to do something, and my life will show, I do not love Him like I want to. I feel like Peter answering Jesus, who asks “Peter, do you love me?” All I can say is “Lord, you know”.
God, this is where I am, desiring to love You in a perfect way, but failing to. Oh, a reminder I need Your grace today as much as I did the first day I realized You loved me. May I walk in a way worthy of You today. Move in me, fill me with joy and Your Holy Spirit.
