Sing praise to the Lord, you His godly ones,
And give thanks to His holy name.
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may last for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning
Psalm 30:4-5
God is gracious. David declares in this song that God’s anger toward His people is very short, especially when compared to His favor which lasts a lifetime. Have you ever thought about the whole of your life and considered how many times God has rescued you, healed you, forgave you? This thought can make very day begin with joy.
How about me? Am I starting every day with joy because I realize how much God loves me and cares for me?
God, truly Your eye is on the sparrow and You watch over me as well. May I sing praise to You and have an attitude of thanks as I consider the wonderful purpose of God.
