“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”
Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Revelation 22:12-14
John’s vision of Jesus impending return is a reminder that with Him come rewards and blessings to those who follow Him. The Bible reminds us that God sees our entire life. Nothing is hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. How we live our lives really matters for all eternity.
Am I investing my life with eternity in mind? Have I realized how short my life is on this side of eternity?
Oh Lord Jesus, may I live my life in a way that pleases You. I would love to have rewards, but more than that, I am grateful to have my robe washed (forgiveness), access to the tree of life (continual spiritual nourishment from the indwelling Holy Spirit), and entrance into the city (heaven and eternity with You).
