It Breaks His Heart Too

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:5-8

When evil leads to violence, do you ever wonder how God feels about it? I do. Certainly God sees it, and He too is grieved. It breaks His heart too. Imagine, how God, who sees all evil everywhere continually must feel about how we (as the height of His creation) have fallen. Its understandable why Moses writes that “the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth”. One man found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Perhaps if each of us could be more like Noah- we could see a great outpouring of grace upon the earth.

How aware am I of the violence and evil around me? Does it grieve my heart as it should?

God, what a reminder of our sinful nature and need for a Savior. I pray I could be a grace dispenser on Your behalf, directing people toward Your great love and forgiveness and power to transform violent people to peaceful ones.
