Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity And passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in unchanging love. Micah 7:18
The prophet Micah wrote about a time when God would draw His people to Himself and forgive their sins. Of course this happened once for all through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. Notice the character of God: He pardons, He lets go of His anger, He delights in unchanging love, both His own and that of His children.
Is my love unchanging or am I fickle? Do I express the a long suffering attitude toward people who have wronged me? As I think about what Love Does this month, I will be examining myself in this area.
Lord, please give me a heart so filled with love, that even if I feel emotionally empty toward someone, Your overflow of love will fill me up and spill out to them. I don’t want to retain anger forever, but rather delight in Your unchanging love.
