Inward Victory

victoryRise up! Consecrate the people and say, Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, for thus the Lord, the God of Israel, has said, There are things under the ban in your midst, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you have removed the things under the ban from your midst. Joshua 7:13

Purity and holiness is something God wants for us, not from us. That’s a powerful idea. Joshua responded to the defeat at Ai by looking inward. He called for consecration and drawing close to God. This would lead to the revelation of sin and purification of Israel. Again, this was a step of obedience that God honored with a military victory.

Do I need victories in my life? Yes! What have I discovered as I look inward for impurities in my life?

God, cleanse my heart, make me pure, and lead me to victory for Your name’s sake.
