Surely I am more stupid than any man,

What are the most important questions and answers in life?
Agur realized he had incomplete answers to the most important questions in life. In humility, he calls himself ‘stupid’ because he recognized that any common man can know the answers.
Let’s tackle them one by one… Who has ascended into heaven and descended? We live on this side of Jesus Christ who is the only one to descend from heaven and ascend. Knowing about the life, love, and message of Jesus is of paramount value. Knowing Him is what life is really about.
Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth?
God alone is able to control the wind? He is the creator of the universe. Living life without acknowledgement of the creator – creature relationship produces arrogance, self-sufficiency, and misery. There is both beauty in the world God has created and a revelation of His loving nature.
What is His name or His son’s name? God has given mankind His very name– We don’t have to be confused with other so-called gods. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. His name is Yahweh. His Son’s name is Jesus (Joshua=God Saves). This then is ‘eternal life’, that they (us) would know Him (God, the Father) and the Son (Jesus) whom He (God, the Father) has sent.
Do you know Him? Do I know Him? What difference has it made in my life?
God, as this day begins, I acknowledge that I am part of Your creation. Thank you for revealing Yourself to me. May I follow in Jesus’ steps today as I try to live out the purposes for which You created me. Amen.
