made wellA man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He *said to him, “Do you wish to get well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Jesus *said to him, “Get up, pick up your pallet and walk.” Immediately the man became well, and picked up his pallet and began to walk. Now it was the Sabbath on that day.

A man of undisclosed age, suffered for thirty eight years. Jesus asked a man a very profound question – ‘Do you want to be made well?’. The answer was an excuse and explanation, but not a resounding ‘Yes!’. Its interesting how we can get comfortable with our uncomfortable situation. So much so, that we aren’t really ready for a breakthrough. Then Jesus comes along and moves us forward. Our physical, spiritual, and emotional healing lies within the power of God.

How often have I languished beside the pool of healing without seeking God directly? Have I left anyone else there, when I could get them in?

God, I come to you today asking that You heal me. My answer is ‘Yes’, I want to be made well.
