I Heard Your Prayer, I Saw Your Tears

TearsIn those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’” Then he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, saying, “Remember now, O Lord, I beseech You, how I have walked before You in truth and with a whole heart and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Before Isaiah had gone out of the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Return and say to Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of your father David, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord. I will add fifteen years to your life, and I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.” 2 Kings 20:1-6

I pray with people who are struggling with their faith, fitness, family, finances, friendships, etc. One assurance I can give anyone is that God hears and sees their situation. He saw Hezekiah’s days coming to an end, heard his cry and granted him fifteen more years. If God can grant an extension to life itself… what more is He willing to do?

How about me? Have I cried out to the Lord with my needs? Do I trust that He has heard me?

Today Lord Jesus, I want to claim the promises written in 1 John 5:14-15 “This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” I come confidently before Your throne (not on my own account, but based on the righteousness You have imputed to me, based on the shed blood on Calvary), asking You to grant each of my deepest prayers that are according to Your will. Help our church continue to be a shining light of hope and salvation in Corona and Western Riverside County and all around the world. Please help us finish selling our North campus. Entrust those who are being saved each day by the redeeming work of Your Spirit to us, so we can disciple and grow them up in Christ. Touch the lives of my brothers, my mom and dad, and extended family. Draw each one into a personal relationship with You that is rich in prayer and devotion leading to a miraculous life with eternal purpose… I place them before you one by one… Jim, Joni, Judy, Brad, Tessa, Jake, Josh, Jack, Jenna, Jim, Dorothy, Dustin, Emma, Joary, Elena, Randy, Lisa, Laura, Diana, David, Mason, Adam, Andrea, Jason, Kai, Eden, Keanu, and Kaenan.
