I love that moment in Guardians of the Galaxy when Peter Quill says “I have a plan”… (Deep down knowing he only has ‘part of a plan’) God has a complete and eternal plan and it involved you and I. When I have traveled on mission trips- we’ve often said this funny saying “Man plans and God laughs”. On the other hand, when I consider God’s Redemptive Plan, I marvel at the mystery of His will (now revealed in Christ) and His purpose of bringing hope to me and all who trust in the Son of God. I now have a place in His kingdom and in some small way, my redeemed life is lived to the praise of His glory. Oh, I hope people can see Him (Jesus Christ) reflected in me. How wonderful to live with God-honoring purpose each day.
In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He set forth in Him, regarding His plan of the fullness of the times, to bring all things together in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him we also have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things in accordance with the plan of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in the Christ would be to the praise of His glory. How closely and I following God’s plan for my life? What, if anything, is impeding my complete obedience? How passionately do I want my life to be to the praise of His glory?
God, as this day begins- I want to ask that You would show Your grace and mercy, power and love by bringing my wife to full health. I thank You for the last two weeks of travel and learning and reflection. Now, I feel its the first day to really shine for You by serving others. Guide my steps today. I pray its unusually productive and in may ways reflects Your plan for my life.
