After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” Revelation 7:9-10
When the sixth seal is opened, those saved (by placing their faith and trust in Jesus) during the great tribulation are now in heaven before the throne of God and the Lamb. They are from everywhere and they are representative of all nations, tribes, people, and languages. They reflect the reality that the gospel has reached the whole world. Amazing! Their song is a wonderful reminder of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem when the crowds laid down palm branches and shouted ‘Hosanna’ (God, save now). Here they are holding palm branches and echoing the song of completion ‘Salvation belongs to our God’.
How involved am I in God’s redemptive plan to save the whole world? Have I participated on mission trips, supported churches in other lands, or children who need to hear the gospel?
God, thank you that you include everyone. You are not willing that any should perish, but all should come to the knowledge of repentance. Use me again this day to share the message of the Lamb of God, so that another person may join us around His eternal throne.
