Your beauty, O Israel, is slain on your high places! How have the mighty fallen! 2 Samuel 2:17-19
When Saul died, David made sure he was honored. He even wrote a song and asked that it be sung to the next generation. Even thought Saul mistreated David horribly, he was the Lord’s anointed. Often we are to honor the person because of the Lord’s choosing, in spite of their shortcomings. Some simply say to honor the ‘office’. Its hard to separate the two.
Who is worthy of honor in my life? How and I showing it?
God, what a great reminder that leadership has its difficulties and most don’t appreciate it. Remind me to honor those who serve in Your kingdom. Keep my heart affectionate and appreciative. I pray that the ministry ahead today would lead to wonderful memory makers for the people who are dedicating children to You.
