When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He *said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” Then He *said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” From that hour the disciple took her into his own household. John 19:26-27
Jesus loved his mother so much he asked his closest earthly friend to care for her after his death. Today is Mother’s Day, when we express our love for our mother’s and honor them. The Bible promises that if we honor our mother and father, it will go well with us and we will live long in the land.
How am I at honoring my mother? I would say… average. I find that my busyness has made me less effective at honoring my mom. My younger brother is good at it.
God, help me grow in this area of my life. I certainly want the promise that comes with it.
