Honesty and Contentment lead to Integrity

integrityTwo things I asked of You, do not refuse me before I die:
Keep deception and lies far from me, give me neither poverty nor riches;
Feed me with the food that is my portion, that I not be full and deny You and say, “Who is the Lord?”
Or that I not be in want and steal, and profane the name of my God. Proverbs 30:7-9

Honesty and contentment are valuable underpinnings to personal integrity. How many people have lied and deceived their way to the top of their profession? How many more have spun out of control because of the vices in their life that overtook them as they could not deal with their own riches. The Bible says godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:6)

How free from deception am I? Am I in that sweet spot of relying upon God, yet not too needy that I would steal?

God, I praise You because You have first made me want to be genuine, real, and transparent. And now, daily You are helping me be honest and content. I really do feel a sense of blessing in my life. Prompt me by Your Spirit in every conversation and decision this week.
