Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy. i Peter 1:13-16
God wants holiness for me as much as He wants it from me. When Christ comes (returning as He promised, or I go to Him in death) a great grace will be revealed to me, inasmuch as I will be a forgiven co-heir with Him, not a judged rebel against Him. So, I am motivated now as a sober minded and thinking person to be alert and living life contrary to the world and its evil desires. I am to be holy.
How is my desire and thinking? How is my behavior?
God, as I sit this morning with a fully sober mind, my judgment is Yes! I want to be holy. Not only declare me holy, but make me holy in the 1,000,000 decisions I make.
