The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way.
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.
I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread.
All day long he is gracious and lends, and his descendants are a blessing. Psalm 37:23-26
In this beautiful psalm the wicked and their short-lived glory are contrasted to the righteous, just and gracious follower of God. God promises protection and provision for us. We will fall, but He will be by our side. Even our children will be blessed. And notice, all of this delights the Lord.
Am I following God’s righteous plan for my life? Or am I wicked and taking advantage of others?
God, I bless You and praise You that I have an imputed righteousness, that of Jesus Christ, unearned and undeserved. I know I am treated by you as if I were Jesus. Help me live in righteousness ways and be a delight to You today. I am holding on to Your hand.
