Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:27-28
Jesus entered into the heavenly tabernacle (the presence of the throne of God) on the basis of His own righteousness, but came with His shed blood that once for all paid the penalty for the sins of many. Now He lives forevermore making intercession for those whom He loves. A day is coming when He will return and appear again to mankind summing up all things and history itself. This is what the Bible describes as the great and glorious day of the Lord.
I am so grateful that upon my death I will not face God to be judged, but rather to be exonerated by the blood of Jesus.
God, thank you that You provided a way for me to enter into Your presence one day in heaven. I love that in times of prayer and as Your Holy Spirit moves within my mind and life, I have a taste ahead of time. How wonderful You are!
