Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:54
When Jesus died on the cross, something happened that had never occurred before. It was so distinctive that the experienced centurion realized who Jesus is… the Son of God. Many people will go their entire lives without realizing who He is, and responding to His life and message.
The significance of Jesus life and message became very real to me at the age of 18. Like the centurion, I ‘saw things happening’ and realized truly Jesus is the Son of God.
What a joy to make that all important discovery God. And You really revealed Yourself to me. I think from the very beginning of my life You were intervening, expressing Yourself, changing circumstances, and patiently waiting for me to respond. So glad I did.
