But we prayed to our God, and because of them we set up a guard against them day and night. Nehemiah 4:9
What do you do when discouragement comes? How do you handle the opposition your building projects? God’s people under Nehemiah’s leadership prayed and wisely guarded their work.
How about me? Am I praying day and night asking God to work in my midst? What areas of my life and work are subject to ridicule and scoffers? What areas are vulnerable from an attack of my enemies?
Oh God, You can accomplish far more that I can imagine. Please work this week with an eye attentive to the needs in my world. Bless and protect my family as I travel. Please encourage the staff at school who are working diligently during spirit week and homecoming. Help each who is trying to do something special, like install a scoreboard or make a costume. Draw the biggest joyful crowd ever to Friday’s celebrations!
