I love the feeling of working hard and as a result being able to buy something special for my wife or family… even just paying my mortgage! Its the feeling of accomplishment, I guess. Getting what you deserve resonates with all of us. But, what about when you get something more than you deserve? The Bible calls that grace (unmerited favor). Before we ever did anything deserving of His love and affection, Jesus our Savior died for us. Imagine the depth of God’s love! Anyone else feel its more difficult to receive such a love than trying to earn His favor on our own merit? I do. Let’s thank Him for His GRACE = God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense.
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8 NASB
Am I still trying to earn my salvation?
God, as this day begins, I am grateful for Your grace and love. May I be a dispenser of Your grace to others today.
