Be careful to listen to all these words which I command you, so that it may be well with you and your sons after you forever, for you will be doing what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 13:28
One of the phrases Moses continued to repeat to the children of Israel was ‘listen and do all that I command’. The reason is that God desired to pour out amazing blessings upon them. But the blessing were conditional. Only if they loved God and kept his commands. Its interesting that none of the commands were designed to be a burden, but rather a blessing in and of themselves. Every offering could draw a family close together and remind them to rely upon God and was a way of expressing worship.
How careful or attentive am I to God’s commands? I try to sense the leading and guiding of God’s Spirit and to know His Word.
God, I want it to go well with me and my children after me. If there is anything I am missing from Your Word, show me, so I can do what is good and right in Your sight.
