If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him?
And if your transgressions are many, what do you do to Him?
If you are righteous, what do you give to Him,
Or what does He receive from your hand? Job 35:6-7
Some people get mad at God and go sideways! They live a life of sin because and feel in some way that will ‘get back at God’. Elihu had some more advice for Job. Don’t do it. It won’t accomplish anything. Great advice by the way. God wants to have a dynamic relationship with each one of us filled with constant two-way communication.
Have I tried to win God’s favor by doing something righteous? (When in reality, I already have His favor). Worse, have I tried to get back at God by going sideways in my behavior, thinking that He deserves it?
God, thank you again today for your abiding presence in my life. You restrain and You prompt me. And most of all you remind me that I am loved completely.
