Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple. John 8:58-59
Jesus ended a heated debate with the religious leaders by answering their question ‘are you greater than Abraham’? They did not like Jesus’ answer at all, because He claimed equality with God. Standing before them was God in a bod. Wow. Along the way, Jesus did everything possible to give glory to the Father. And at this moment, the Father begins to glorify the Son in His amazing sacrificial role and ultimate triumph of resurrection.
This is truly amazing to me, to see the humility of the Son of God, make the disclosure of His true identity. He is my Lord and God.
Lord Jesus, today I wonder what You have in store? Move me through the day by Your Spirit in me. Help me reach out love someone in your name.
