Getting Dressed For Work

I am about to get ready for work today. When I was younger and worked for IBM Corp, I wore a suit to work every day. It was kind of my uniform. Dark suit, white shirt, tie, dress shoes (wingtips) Lol. Some of my work now is ministering to families in grief who have lost a loved one. I officiate celebration of life ceremonies. I wear a suit, even though people are more casual today than ever. It reminds me that I am not just attending, but I am placing myself in God’s control to offer love and affection and words of consolation, including the hope of a heavenly reunion for everyone in Christ. The priest serving in the tabernacle god dressed in holy garments for their work and ministry. All Christians are part of a priesthood today, serving God. We may not wear suits or priestly garments, but we get dressed each day (spiritually), ready for the work God has for us. The Bible says “put on the Lord Jesus Christ”- Romans 13:14.

Now from the violet, purple, and scarlet material they made finely woven garments for ministering in the Holy Place, as well as the holy garments which were for Aaron, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. Exodus 39:1

What spiritual attire do I need to wear today so that I might be of use to God and those around me?

God, as this day begins- please clothe me in the character of Christ. May I walk adorned in the freedom of forgiveness, the beauty of Your holiness, and the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within me. I pause to pray for the family honoring their precious mother today. Be their great comfort and hope.
