From Prison To Palace

Life has its ups and downs. Live long enough and you will see reversals of fortune, good times and bad, and some amazing moments where God exalts you from humiliation. That feels very good. And when men praise you, remind them that good in us is only because of God. Joseph experienced a moment like that in front of Pharaoh, when he was made second in command of the entire country. In a day, he went from the prison to the palace. But Joseph reminded Pharaoh, it was God who gives interpretation to dreams. Let’s all be humble and pass the glory to God on days like that!

Then Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit?” So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are. You shall be over my house, and according to your [ag]command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you.” Genesis 41:38-40 NASB

When have I had days of great success and seasons of prosperity that follow? Did I humbly give God the glory or did I fall to the temptation of exalting myself?

God, as this day begins- I look forward to ministering to a family who is honoring Vivienne Lopez. May I be used by You to comfort each and to assist them in pleasing heaven as they honor their loved one. Continue, O Lord to impart the wisdom I need to communicate and preach the gospel each Sunday. And whenever I enter the courtroom, may I be an instrument of justice.
