From God’s Perspective

Gods perspectiveDo you not know? Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood since the earth was founded?

He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.

No sooner are they planted,
no sooner are they sown,
no sooner do they take root in the ground,
than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff. Isaiah 40:21-24

God watches the ebb and flow of world leaders and the boundaries of countries like a changing tide. To Him, it all happens rather quickly. The phrase “He brings princes to naught” is a sobering truth all leaders should consider. In our lifetime we will see new leaders rise up in our life and in the world. But, it doesn’t mean they will remain. I look at the turmoil in the middle east and take some solace when I consider it all from God’s perspective.

How about me? How am I dealing with my leadership responsibilities? Do I see things from a worldly vantage point or from God’s?

As this day continues, I pray O Lord that You will help me see all things from Your perspective. That, for me, is the beginning of wisdom. I may not see everything, but at least that which I do see, will be from your vantage point.
