Freed By An Angel

Hosted by

Now when day came, there was no small disturbance among the soldiers as to what could have become of Peter.
When Herod had searched for him and had not found him, he examined the guards and ordered that they be led away to execution. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and was spending time there. Acts 12:18-19

The tide was turning against the apostles. The Jewish leaders were again conspiring with the local ruler to thwart this new way of Jesus and His followers. Peter was arrested by Herod Agrippa and in a fashion similar to Jesus, the Jewish rulers intended to use their influence with Herod, to have Peter killed. But, God sent an angel to rescue Peter. It didn’t go so well for those soldiers guarding him, having failed at their duty. The words of Gamaliel were echoing in the halls… “be careful, lest you find yourself fighting against God”.

How willing am I to face opposition for the sake of Jesus? What miracles have I experienced that have built my faith?

God, as this day begins, I thank you for the wonderful privilege to be called a Christian (little follower of Jesus Christ). May I in faith face any opposition, with grace and love. I pray today will be special for my mom, Maureen, Tessa, Judy, Kasey, Stella, and Dorothy.
