I am aware of several times God has rescued me. And I imagine there are hundreds of times that I am simply unaware. God is gracious! How about you? Has He ever rescued you from situations threatening your life, livelihood, or harm? I know that immediately following these times, I am reverent and even fearful of the power of the Lord. My faith and belief in Him soar. But, isn’t it true we all tend to forget His goodness? Why is that? Maybe we should all keep a journal documenting the times He has been faithful so that we can be faithful as well.
Thus the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. When Israel saw the great power which the Lord had used against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses. Exodus 14:30-31 NASB
On what occasions has God rescued me? In what ways can I demonstrate my love and affection in return?
God, as this day begins, we have much to accomplish together. Thank you for Your might protection in my life. I am not ever aware, but I am grateful. I commit this day to remember and rejoice, not complain or worry. May I be a blessing to all I meet today. Amen.
